I love tasty drinks! I remember when I first started Trim Healthy Mama and bought their cookbooks.
I was so excited by all the sipper recipes! There were so many delicious and creative drinks that could be made up and sipped on throughout the day.
Plus, many of them are full of superfood ingredients like oolong tea, baobab, apple cider vinegar and lemon juice.
Much as I love all the THM sipper recipes, most often I don’t follow a recipe anymore and simply throw my favorite ingredients in my water bottle.
But when I made the Strawberry Lemon Iced Tea that I’m sharing today, it was so delicious and easy that I knew I had to put it up on the blog!

What is a sipper?
In the Trim Healthy Mama world, sippers are just what the name sounds like. They are drinks that can be sipped on all day!
What makes sippers special is that they have basically no fats or carbs. They are as fuel pull as you can get!
This means that you can stay hydrated all day long and not have to worry about consuming extra calories.
We all know we should be drinking lots of water. But sometimes plain old water gets boring. Drinking sippers makes getting in your water easier than ever! They are delicious and many of them have added health benefits from the ingredients they are made with.
What does GGM stand for?
The original Trim Healthy Mama sipper from the cookbook was dubbed Good Girl Moonshine since it is full of zip but obviously is alcohol free! It has ginger and apple cider vinegar in it and is extremely good for you.
THM ladies shortened the name to GGM and now there are many variations of the recipe online.

Why is staying hydrated important?
Making sure you are drinking enough water is so important for health and weight loss. I know I personally can maintain my weight much easier when I’m staying hydrated.
I always start my day with 32 ounces of water and 12 ounces of a hot drink. Usually this is a fuel pull hot chocolate. If for some reason I don’t get in this good dose of liquids before I get on with the rest of my day, I feel completely off track!
Here are some reasons for staying hydrated:
- Keeps you energized
- Supports your muscles and joints
- Hydrates your skin and hair
- Cleanses your body and helps remove toxins
- Aids in healthy weight loss
- Helps with cardiovascular health
How can sippers help me on my THM journey?
Sippers can be super helpful for staying on track with Trim Healthy Mama! My biggest area of weakness is getting the munchies between meals or when I’m bored or tired.
Having something to sip on keeps me busy and gives me that hand to mouth satisfaction even though I’m not consuming extra calories.
And I’m staying hydrated so it’s a win win situation.

This recipe is easy to customize!
I love that this Strawberry Lemon Iced tea is so easy to change up depending on what flavor you feel like.
You simply have to change the tea and Bubly that you are using!
One variation that I love is using peach tea and peach Bubly. This is so delicious! The tea I’m using to make this right now is actually peach and orange so I can do either of those Bubly flavors or even one of each!
Another version I think would be great is strawberry tea with lime Bubly and lime juice instead of lemon.
Play around with different fruit teas and Bubly flavors that go with them!

My favorite sipper jar!!
I love the THM sipper jar! It holds a full quart of water which is the size most sipper recipes make.

Trim Healthy Mama also has water flavor hydrate packs and flavor extracts to keep all your water sipping exciting and delicious!

If I want to make this a GGMS, do I add apple cider vinegar and remove the lemon juice?
Hi Michelle! You could definitely try that! Or you might want to do half lemon juice and half apple cider vinegar since the lemon does add a nice flavor.
