Welcome to Homespun Eats! I couldn’t be more excited you’re here! This is where I share my passion for a healthy, whole food, from scratch lifestyle.
I grew up the oldest of six kids close to a little country town on the Canadian prairies. We spent our summers riding horses, weeding gardens, and swimming in ponds; and our winters riding a tire tube behind Grandpa’s old snowmobile and eating our Grandma’s famous maple fudge that she would drizzle on the snow so it would turn into toffee.
As I got older, my love for baking grew into a love of cooking as well. I became interested in health and natural living and this has led me on a fun, sometimes crazy journey from Keto to Whole 30 to Paleo with a couple other things thrown in!
In January of 2019 I was introduced to the Trim Healthy Mama lifestyle and haven’t looked back! I read the plan books like they were novels and have listened to all their podcasts, which are a wealth of information. Yes, I’m a health nut who loves to learn as much about things as I can!
This way of eating is so sustainable and has given me true food freedom. I’m passionate about sharing delicious recipes that will make your sugar free, THM journey easier and never leave you feeling like you are missing out!

I’m a sauerkraut making, superfood loving, DIY, from scratch kind of girl. Some of the things I look forward to the most during our long winters are going hunting for young nettle tops in the spring to use in my soups and other recipes, and planting pots of herbs to use all summer long.
A few random facts:
I’m obsessed with cookbooks and cute bowls. I have way too many of both….
I love to travel, and am always planning the next adventure, whether it’s a jaunt to a local park or farmers market or a longer trip to a different country.
I totally can’t stand big moths. I can handle mice or snakes, but don’t let a moth anywhere near me. ( This can make getting past the outside light into our house after dark quite interesting….)
People who don’t know me well assume I’m a girly girl. They are usually quite surprised to find out I love camping, hiking and the outdoors as much as I love china teacups and quaint cafes.
